Our role
NEC's role is to provide Employment Screening, Employment Referrals, Monitoring of General and Subcontractors' Employment Statistics, Monitoring of General and Subcontractors' Training Statistics, Subcontractor Referrals, Monitoring of General Contractor's Subcontracting Statistics.
Application Process
All applicants are required to apply for employment through Nome Eskimo Community to complete the application screening process prior to being referred to the General Contractor and Subcontractors for review.
As employment opportunities arise, contractors will review the list of referred applicants with their contact and qualification information for further screening through an interview process by the manager responsible for hiring. The referral list is updated and sent to the contractors on a weekly basis for review by the contractors for potential employees.
All applications (Alaska Native and American Indian, and non-Native) will be made available for consideration to the NSHC Hospital Replacement Project Contractors and Subcontractors.
Preference in employment for this Project is given to Alaska Natives and American Indians in accordance with federal law.
Potential employment for new hires will occur during the winter of 2011-2012 in the general laborer trades.
The Hospital Replacement Project construction site is an active construction area and unauthorized personnel are not permitted on the construction site.

NEC member who reside in the region may contact, Tribal Services Coordinator, for Direct Employment assistance.
