Nome Eskimo Community Tribal Members
If you are experiencing financial hardship directly or indirectly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the following Homeowners,
Housing, and BIA Housing Improvement Program services and applications are available during the period of
September 6, 2022 to October 28, 2022. These emergency housing services have limited funding,
and services are provided on a first come, first serve basis.
Emergency Homeowners Assistance Fund: This fund will provide temporary emergency financial assistance to qualified applicants and no
matter where your primary residential home is located. The following services are available for homeowners for up to 3 months each; Mortgage, Insurance, Utilities, Heating Fuel, Gas/Propane, Association Fees, and Property Tax payments.
Emergency Housing Assistance: This fund will provide temporary emergency housing assistance to qualified applicants who reside in the
Nome service area. The following services are available to applicants for up to 3 months each; Rental, Utility, and Fuel Assistance. This Energy Efficiency Assistance Program will provide one-time non-recurring assistance to qualified applicants to maintain home services. Applicants can choose one of the following for Site Repair/House Leveling, Repair or Install Boiler, Toyo Stove, Hot Water Heater to Maintain Services, Repair Residential Plumbing to maintain Water/Sewer services and Weatherization Improvements by replacing Windows and Doors to improve energy efficiency.
Bureau of Indian Affairs Housing Improvement Program: This fund will provide one-time non-recurring assistance to qualified applicants
who reside in our service area of Nome, Fort Davis, South of Anvil Mountain, Beam Road, Osborn, and Dexter to maintain home services.
Applicants can choose one of the following for repair or installation; Boiler, Fuel Tank/Fuel Line, Toyo Stove, Hot Water Heater, Plumbing and Windows and Doors.
